As an author of war dramas, I love heroism. But sometimes, the bravest heroes aren’t found on the battlefield. They’re found in scrubs and face masks. They pace hospital floors or beside dying patients. They’re the nurses who helped bring you into the world, are there throughout life, and hold your hand at the end.

I tried to capture the heroism of nurses in the person of Eleanor—the courageous nurse in Northshire Heritage trilogy— but the truth is, all of us have been touched by these heroes.

Now, more than ever, let’s thank a nurse for being in the front lines of the fight. THANK YOU!
