DAY 2: So, it was SUPPOSED to be a pretty easy day. We check out of our hotel, check out one of Germany’s many beautiful castles, then make the quick trip to a castle where we’d spend the night.

What ENDED UP happening was that our hotel clerk gave VERY obscure directions on how to retrieve our parked car, which almost got me stuck in a room full of garbage cans and a maze of locked doors (I’ll leave out the details on that one!)
Afterward, our GPS almost sent us off a cliff while we’re searching for a castle. Talk about a cliffhanger!
Nonetheless, we had an AMAZING time at Castle Colmberg, enjoyed their culinary expertise and were blessed with amazing views of this incredible country.

It’s really the unexpected—and sometimes stressful moments—that make life a meaningful adventure. As a writer, I’ve realized that every moment is a gift, a story that I can weave into one of my novels in some way at some point in the future. So–there really are no bad moments. Just unexpected ones that we’ll laugh about sometime down the road.
Stay tuned for Day 3 tomorrow. The adventure continues…
