And walk in the way of love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.

Ephesians 5:2

In commemoration of Memorial Day, I believe it’s fitting that we pause and reflect on the theme of sacrifice. The members of our armed forces constantly give of themselves, sacrificing time with loved ones and indeed their very lives to protect the United States of America.

To them, I say “thank you.”

But let us never forget the greatest Warrior of all, whose immortal sacrifice purchased freedom for the entire human race. Blessed be His Name.

To Jesus, I say “thank you,” for it was His sacrifice that made all the difference in my life.

I pray that we will live as this verse instructs us. Loving each day. Giving each day. Sacrificing each day so that someone else can be made free.
