But now thus says the Lord,
Isaiah 43:1-2ESV
he who created you, O Jacob,
he who formed you, O Israel:
“Fear not, for I have redeemed you;
I have called you by name, you are mine.
2 When you pass through the waters, I will be with you;
and through the rivers, they shall not overwhelm you;
when you walk through fire you shall not be burned,
and the flame shall not consume you.
Okay so it’s more than one verse but the second verse is too good to leave out. These are more than poetic words; they are God’s firm declaration of His abiding commitment to His people.
God is a friend who doesn’t abandon those He loves when times get hard. When we feel alone, afraid or crushed beneath the burdens of life, He is the strength-giver.
When are grieving and can’t find relief from the pain, He holds our hand. When anxiety threatens to overwhelm us, He is our peace.
It’s important to note that God never promised to keep us from the fire–He promised that the fire wouldn’t overcome us. Take advantage of the comfort and strength He alone can provide.
Be Jesus strong,
