S.M.I.L.E=Simple Moments In Life Everyday

Life was meant to be simple. When God breathed life into the human race, He didn’t intend for it to be a complex, hectic struggle. But that’s what we face. And, as a result, it often seems hard to find a reason to smile.

Sure, we’d smile if we got a tax refund or a pay raise. Hopefully we’d smile at a major life event, like getting married or the birth of a child.

But… what about the “in-between” days? The days where bills have to be paid, and schedules have to be managed?

I’ve learnt that every day is filled with simple moments that we often miss noticing because we focus on the gloom-inducing situations (work-related stress, politics etc…). But when I focus on the small, ordinary happy things around me, I can see reasons to smile.

For example, the smell of the fresh bread made my wife. The sound of my kids laughing. The sight of the trees outside my window, waving their branches in the morning light.

Main point:

Everywhere we look, God has given us simple things to treasure, simple moments in life everyday that, if we’ll notice them, will make us SMILE.

What simple things have you noticed lately? I’d love to hear from you.

Here are a few I pulled off Google to get you thinking. I hope they put a SMILE on your face! 🙂

  1. Colorado has had snow 17/20 days in February, a lot of people are ‘snow weary” but I stand on my patio and take in the soft, feathery flakes.

    • That’s got to be beautiful, Tonya! And over near New Jersey we’re wishing it would get some snow. 🙂 Keep up that attitude and stay safe!
