CommUNITY

History shows us time and again how much can be accomplished when people work together. This principle has become one of the driving forces behind the work I do as an author.

Most of you know that I’ve been really busy organizing a community event called LancoExpo which is taking place THIS SATURDAY from 10-2 at Quarryville Library. Well, as you can imagine, it’s always a challenge to get people to attend community events.

This morning WJTL radio joined our eclectic “posse” of partners by being kind enough to allow me to be a guest speaker. You can listen to the interview here (it’s about 6 minutes long).

With their help, I was able to share information about the event with a much wider audience than I ever could have alone.

But the story doesn’t end there.

With the help of printers such as Cooper Printing and Groff’s Printing, I was able to reach even more residents in the area. With the support of businesses such as Carabba’s Italian Restaurant, Planet Fitness and Giant Grocery—as well as the authors and artists who’ll join us on Saturday— we’ve been able to set the stage for an AWESOME event.

The lesson is simple but powerful. To achieve anything worthwhile, pull together.

This is true for families, communities, nations—and our world.
